GreenWash
Environmental Engine Wash Service!!!

For Jet Turbine and Turbo Prop Engines

We want to offer airlines and MROs environmental solutions to your problems.

So we have been researching the potential savings in fuel costs and CO2 emissions that can be produced with an effective engine wash process.

We also looked at the various wash systems that seem to be those that are mostly being used by airlines, and they were either:

  1. Ineffective

  2. Bad for the environment

  3. Too expensive

  4. or all 3!

We thought there must be a better way - so we went out and found it.

As a result, February 2010 sees the launch of the GreenWash engine washing service and the Green Flight "Buy your CO2 Emission Reduction Program"

This is a come-to-you service - no need to have your own equipment sitting idle in the hangar for weeks and months at a time - no need to train your own staff - no need to worry about servicing yet another bit of equipment - no need for any of these, because we provide it all.

You simply call us or schedule your engine wash online, we come to where your aircraft is at the airport or other facility, and your engine gets washed. That easy, that simple.

And the service is environmentally friendly - GreenWash utilises a closed loop system that captures all of the waste water and loose particles flushed from the engine - this a patented design, only available through Aero Jet Wash, our allies in the GreenWash service.

We believe the Green Flight GreenWash mobile (i.e. we come to your aircraft, on-wing) engine washing system will provide your airline or MRO with a superior result compared to your current processes, in both engine performance results and environmental outcomes.

Also costs per wash can be kept low as the GreenWash mobile service requires only one GreenWash employee to perform the wash (with one airline staff in the cockpit).

In order to quantify the net cost savings resulting from implementation of the GreenWash system, click on the link below which will open up an online Spreadsheet calculator in a new browser

When you're there, do a quick calculation of the fuel savings that could be achieved by your airline, simply by using the GreenWash system, based on your current twin and 4 engine fleet jet aircraft (NB - please count any 4 engine aircraft as 2 twins for the sake of the calculation).

***NEW DEVELOPMENTS - AN ENGINE WASH SYSTEM FOR TURBO PROPS IS BEING FINALISED NOW AND WE WILL LET ALL TURBO PROP OPERATORS KNOW MORE SOON***

You will see the factors that are used on that Calculator (also see bullet point list below) to calculate costs and savings for you - there will be an overall net cost reduction for the airline (after GreenWash per-engine-wash fees) due to improved engine performance, and that is purely on fuel savings.

This does not include overall savings based on reduced engine maintenance and the ability to keep the engines on wing longer, but it gives you a guide as to the potential savings possible.

At the same time, it also doesn't factor in the staff costs saved by outsourcing the engine wash process, and  doesn't attempt to incorporate the benefits you are currently getting from the existing engine wash process.

However, we believe that just on the increased engine performance / fuel savings, it's worth your time to consider the GreenWash option and give me a call.

Standard factors used to calculate the savings - you will see that you can change these on the Calculator yourself as well:

    • Fleet size is set at 20 but you can change this in the calculator to your fleet size -note - this for twin engine or twin engine equivalent so a 4 engine aircraft is 2 x twin engine
    • 2 x engine washes per year
    • Fuel price at USD$4 per gallon (recalculate for different fuel prices to se the diference in savings)
    • Fuel consumption averaging at 1500 gallons per hour (your average fuel consumption may differ)
    • Operational days per year of 300 (your average operating days may differ)
    • Daily flight hours average of 3 (your average daily flight hours may differ)

You may also consider that the net savings are based on GreenWash costs of USD$3,900 per engine wash basis, which fee compares favourably with other service providers for large engine washes.

While this is the standard fee, we are also prepared to offer significantly lower per wash fees for the first operator in any given airport or MRO facility to implement the GreenWash service.

I really hope you got something useful from this information.

Frequently Asked Questions for MRO's

1. How often should our clients have their engines GreenWashed?

It is recommended that every 400 to 600 hours engines should be GreenWashed for the best results.

2. Why do our clients need to have their engines GreenWashed?

Washing engines on a regular basis helps to save fuel, improves EGT margin, and prolongs the engines’ life.

3. Should we have our clients engines GreenWashed with hot water or detergent?

GreenWash is able to do both hot water and detergent wash. It depends on the operator but usually pure hot water is recommended.

4. Do our clients have to fly their aircraft to your site?

No. GreenWash will have a mobile unit with experienced crew to at your facility.

 5. What happens to dirty water coming from the engine?

GreenWash and Aero Jet Wash take pride in being 100% green companies.

The Jet Wet Suit has been carefully designed to be used in all U.S. and international airports with environmental safety as a first priority. This unique system captures ALL of the effluent from the tail pipe and then it is run through our filtration system. This water can be recycled.

6. How long does it take to GreenWash the engines?

With the latest Jet Wet Suit [patent pending] design we can GreenWash two engines in one hour, meaning your Checks aren’t held up.

7. Can all types of engines be GreenWashed?

Yes, the equipment we use for the GreenWash System (using the patented Jet Wet Suit) is designed to fit any type of engine.

8. Does GreenWash carry liability insurance coverage?

Yes. We do provide coverage for customers at no extra cost

9. How can I get my clients engines GreenWashed?

OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES OFFERED BY GREEN FLIGHT

  1. A Carbon Emissions Measurement, Monitoring and Reporting (MRV) system

The systems on offer enable airlines to accurately measure all of their carbon emissions, from all sources including per flight, ground equipment and static sources (eg power usage in buildings and hangars)

This enables airlines to not only accurately measure, and where necessary, report in compliance with Emissions Trading Schemes (such as the EU ETS), but also to easily review the opportunities to reduce emissions, and in many cases, costs. The systems may also provide the opportunity to model new equipment (engines, aircraft, etc) to project emission and cost reductions for fleet change mixes.

However, there are other systems that may suit you better. We discuss your needs and then recommend the system best suited to your needs.

  2. The Greenflight Carbon Offset Program

Understand how the MyGreenFlight Carbon Offset Programme can work for you

This program provides airlines with a completely managed voluntary passenger paid Carbon Offset program.

The implementation of this program provides airlines the opportunity to demonstrate their “green” credentials and also ensures that those offsets can be used with Emission Trading Schemes around the world (such as the EU ETS (for the 2012 reporting period). This can reduce the cost outlay required of the airline when Emission Permits are required to be purchased, which may help keep ticket prices low.

There is also a White Paper on CO2 available on Emissions Trading Strategies - click here for the White Paper

When a global Aviation ETS is in place, and there may be a mandatory Offset Levy applied to ticketing, this Programme will ensure your transition to that new compliance environment at no cost and with minimum inconvenience.

IMPORTANT NOTE - As we will be helping Carbon Offset clients to purchase other green products and services in the future, as well as their Offsets, we are developing an affinity marketing programme that will generate your airline significant ongoing income from the passengers that come from your website. This will be worth a lot of money to your airline in the future, and is not tied to those passengers flying with you. For more information, call Dennis on +61403586111

To arrange a meeting to see how these services can assist you, please call Dennis McMahon on +61733548188 / +61403586111.

In conjunction with these services, Greenflight can coordinate any consulting services required to assist airlines in the implementation of any services required.

Services available all around the world - Europe / Middle East / Africa / Asia / Asia-Pacific / Nth America / Sth America
