Carbon Offset Services for
Your conference, exhibition or sporting event

You have no doubt determined to make your conference, exhibition or sporting event as sustainable as possible so you minimise the environmental impact the event has on the city you are holding it in, as well as the planet.

To that end, you will wish all travellers to your conference, exhibition or sporting event to take certain steps to reduce their personal impact on the environment. One of those actions is to offset the carbon dioxide emissions generated by their air travel to and from your event.

This service provides event organisers with the opportunity to achieve that goal, by providing a web-based carbon offset service that enables an easy method for event attendees to offset their flight emissions.

We want to offer your conference attendees the opportunity to offset the carbon dioxide emissions from their flights to and from the event.

This is achieved by having a graphic link that links from your website to our carbon offset website www.mygreenflight.com

The website has a flight emissions calculator and the ability for people to purchase offset carbon credits, so airline passengers (your attendees) can offset their flight emissions.

The site also contains information about climate change, offsetting etc

Why would you agree to this?

With the increased awareness of climate change, sustainability and general corporate social responsibility, people are looking to organisations to show their leadership in this area.

And when you run an event, particularly an international event where attendees are flying in from overseas, it gives you the opportunity to demonstrate that your awareness is high and that you are taking action.

Many organisations including some governments have offset programs in place for their staff air travel.

Examples include the UK government, which has a government wide offset program in place for Civil Service air travel, and some Australian state governments. There are many more examples around the world.

We offer organisers of events (conferences, sporting events, meetings, exhibitions, etc) the chance to incorporate that voluntary carbon offset offer as part of promoting their event as an environmentally responsible event.

Services Offered

The carbon offset services will be provided by Green Flight and can be achieved in one of two ways.

Option 1 - Use Existing www.mygreenflight.com website

The first alternative is to utilise the currently existing website www.myGreenFlight.com that Green Flight has in use. This website is constructed to offer airline passengers, flying on any one or multiple airlines, the opportunity to offset all of their flights in the one location.

The website calculates the offsets from the passengers combined flights, enabling a secure e-commerce channel to receive their payment transactions, and thereby ensuring a convenient and simple method to maximise the offsets.

This website also contains all of the information that prospective purchasers of carbon offsets will need to make their offset decision. The website would be co-branded with your event logo, thus establishing your event as a provider of the offset opportunity.

Should you determine that this option is preferred, Green Flight would make use of the existing ticketing and other marketing channels tyou are using for your event o provide a portal for ticketing agents and the general public to purchase the required offsets.

Green Flight would also provide the complete management function of the service, and provide you with regular management reports as to purchases, sourcing, purchasing and retirement of the purchased credits on public credit registries.

This option has no costs for you, as Green Flight would meet all associated costs to set the system up for your event.

Option 2 - Design & Build a Custom Website for your Event

The alternative option is to have a specific event carbon offset website created for your event.

Under this option, all the other services offered by Green Flight remain as in the first option; however Green Flight would provide you with a specific website (utilising our systems) fully designed and branded for your event.

This option has a fee of USD$10,000, which is purely for design and development of the website. The management and provision of the service remains as for the first option and incurs no costs to your conference, exhibition or sporting event.

Common Services

Whether you take the co-branded website, or we design one for you, the following services make sure your event gets all the recognition for acting like the good corporate citizen you are - and it's simple.

1. You send us a logo for the event or for your organisation

2. We send you a graphic link for your website and between us, we agree where that link will go (usually Home Page and others as appropriate such as Travel, etc) - the link goes to your co-branded MyGreenFlight site

3. We will also promote the event via our marketing avenues where they will be helpful to you

4. Promotion can include our logo on your information material - we would love it if you would, but that would be your choice

5. We create a co-branded MyGreenFlight website with your logo on it ,so your logo is on every page that your attendees see at the MyGreenFlight website

6. We prepare an email and ask that you send it to your attendees informing them about the service and your efforts to make the event more environmentally responsible

7. We write a brief profile of the service and also ask that you include that profile information about the service in your Registration and other information

8. We prepare a joint Press Release and ask that you send it to your media sources

9. We provide you with reports of carbon offset activity, so you can include those results in your end of event review and reporting

No Costs to You

Importantly, if you choose the easiest option, with our co-branded website, there are no costs to you for the services mentioned. Our benefits are partially the sale of the offsets to attendees, and our major benefit is the publicity we gain from being associated with prestigious events and organisations

Background to Green Flight

Green Flight has it's origins with C & L Aerospace, an aerospace company that has been supporting airlines for 15 years with material support and other services.

One of the many issues facing the world at the moment is climate change and greenhouse gas emissions. With our knowledge of the airline industry, we have extended our services to help airlines address their emissions via carbon footprint measurement and carbon offset programmes.

We are working with a number of events (Delhi Commonwealth Games, Shanghai World Expo and others) and various airlines (including Bangkok Air, Philippine Airlines, Air Pacific and more) at the moment to implement the Offset program with them.

We are also working with RDC Aviation and other professional firms such as Bureau Veritas to ensure that all of our processes are transparent and credible.

The experience gained (including measuring our own emissions and implementing a plan to "carbon neutralise" our business) has allowed us to expand the offset programmes to include helping airline passengers around the world, to help your event with the challenges you face in reducing the net emissions of your business.

With air travel by the people attending your event, there are significant greenhouse gases being emitted, which contribute to climate change. Your role, and that of your clients, is vital to achieving that aim. The MyGreen Flight offset program is designed to achieve net emissions reductions from your event, with a small per client fee being used to offset air travel emissions.

From your point of view, however, all you need to do is provide your clients with the opportunity to offset their flight emissions and have a carbon neutral flight - we look after the rest.
